Sunday School
POSTPONED WHILE DOING VIRTUAL CHURCH.

Sunday School

We nurture and educate our children to love God, love the planet, and love each other, while building friendships and having fun. By exploring the life and the teachings of Jesus, we model and affirm: creativity, curiosity, courage, and coolness.

Our Programs

Sunday morning services begin with welcome and announcements followed by music. During our first congregational song, children are invited forward to light candles and receive a blessing. According to family preference, children then either return to sit with their families or follow the teacher to Downstairs Church. A “prayground” area of the sanctuary is equipped with picture books, story Bibles, Bibles and other books, as well as paper and coloring supplies for kids and their grown-ups to use in worship. Parents and Caregivers are also welcome to accompany kids until they feel comfortable in Downstairs Church.

Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers (ages 3 and 4)

Chiu-mei Shih (Sabrina) and a youth assistant are happy to care for your children in the nursery during the service.

Kindergarten through Fifth Grade

Kaylan Wilson is our regular teacher for this age group, using a story-based curriculum that parallels the stories and sermon used in worship.

Middle School

Middle School youth are welcome to stay in the service or can attend class downstairs if they prefer. On the third Sunday of the month they are invited out to coffee during the service. A 25-week middle school OWL sexuality curriculum is offered every other year.

High School

Some High School youth stay in the sanctuary service and some assist as helpers in our children’s program. They are also invited out to coffee the third Sunday of each month. The High School OWL program is offered during alternate years.
