Music and Worship

Music

At Ashland UCC, we include music from the historic Christian tradition and from living artists, both sacred and secular. We strive to create a musical space where people are transformed by an encounter with God. Musicians leading services share in a common a mission that through our music, we are helping facilitate a spiritual encounter.

A rich variety of musicians contribute vitally to our music ministry through solos and ensembles. Vocalists, fingerpicking songwriters, classical instrumentalists, and a stellar batch of improvisatory percussionists are just a few.

Family musicians from multiple generations jam together as well.

Choir

Join us for rehearsals each Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All are welcome!

Worship

Sunday morning worship includes two in-person services at 9:00 a.m. and a 10:30 a.m. (Pacific Time). Coffee fellowship will be held in between the two services beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m. See: In-Person Worship

An online broadcast of the 9:00 a.m. service is also available. See: Online Worship

Taizé Prayers

On Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm (September through May), we offer a service of candle light and contemplative prayer in the style of Taizé. Rotating leaders offer a short reading, periods of silence and spoken prayer, and shorter songs that in their simplicity become a way of “praying without ceasing.”

Learn more about in-person Taizé or watch one of these previously recorded mini-Taizé services.
