We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. As an LGBTQ church, that means we include members across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum as well as their family and friends. We welcome folks to participate in all aspects of our spiritual community and do not exclude on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity as we all grow in our understanding of the beautiful range of human identity and loving relationships.
Among the affirming ministries we host or sponsor:
The second weekend in October, Congregational UCC participates in the Southern Oregon Pride Parade on Saturday morning and continues to celebrate PRIDE during Sunday morning worship.
Our Whole Lives
Our Whole Lives is an inclusive and comprehensive sexuality education curriculum in developmentally appropriate stages, grounded in values of Respect, Responsibility and Relationship. Classes for older ages often include panels in partnership with SOU’s Queer Resource Center.
A transgender support group that meets monthly in our Common Room. Let us know your pronouns on the blue contact cards in the sanctuary.
Local resources we also recommend:
