Justice and Witness

Justice and Witness

“What does God require of you, but to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God?”
-Micah 6:8

We work for justice, serve those in need or living on the margins of our community, and listen for calls to action from allies using strategic advocacy, public education, and direct service.

Our Justice and Witness Ministry Team offers opportunities to educate and motivate people on timely or emerging social justice issues such as hunger/homelessness, immigrant and refugee rights, climate change/environmental justice, global human rights, and gender equity.

We support individual members seeking ways to make a difference through concrete opportunities for action, from direct human service to policy advocacy in City Hall, Salem or Washington, D.C.

Local Justice

Some of the ways we promote justice locally:

  • Ashland Emergency Food Bank
  • Winter Shelter Program
  • Rogue Climate and Citizens’ Climate Lobby
  • Unete Center for Farm Worker Advocacy
  • Good Sam Fund for neighbors needing rent/utility help
  • Laundry Love

Regional and National Justice

We also participate in regional and national movements, such as:
