Join with a network of UCC churches in Oregon/Southern Washington/Southern Idaho–as a step towards reckoning with the theft of indigenous tribal land and the systemic injustices that continue.

Details: Murder at the Mission examines the Nov. 29, 1847, killing of Marcus and Narcissa Whitman and 11 other white men at a mission station near Walla Walla by a small number of Cayuse Indians, known as the Whitman Massacre. The narrative fostered framed Marcus Whitman as a martyred Christian/martyred American hero who saved Oregon. It also sowed a century and a half of misery among the Native people of the Columbia River Plateau. Murder at the Mission reveals the true history of the incident and its aftermath.
