Congregational UCC of Ashland is searching for a year-long (or more) Intentional Interim Minister with an ability to build confidence and calm for church members while we undertake our reconciling work and then search for a new Senior Minister.
We are seeking someone with the ability to collaborate with staff and lay leaders in exploring the themes of loving our neighbors as ourselves and the spiritual practices of joy even (and especially) in times of trauma and loss. Familiarity with mediation, church leadership in challenging times, conflict resolution, and reconciliation, while our church labors to heal divisions that have resulted in personal conflict within our church family, is a bonus.
We intend to hire an outside facilitator to lead this work while the Interim Pastor takes care of the normal functions of the church. The Interim Pastor would have an oversight role in this process, with the facilitator reporting to both the Interim Pastor and the Church Council.
We offer an annual salary of $38,400–$46,200, negotiable depending on experience, and a partially furnished house on church property. Specifics of the benefits are negotiable but include health insurance as needed, paid sick leave, vacation days, and expense reimbursement.
