1/4/24: Unsung Heroes

Nancy Wilkerson so excellently directed and produced a retelling of the Christmas Story for the Christmas Pageant. Thank YOU Nancy. It was spectacular—in part also because of the amazing costuming. Did you know that our costuming director is Sherri Morgan, who works mostly in the background during a performance. Not only did the camel make an appearance (Sherri made that camel some years’ ago!), but the angel, star, shepherds and animals, Mary and Joseph, Inn keepers, and Wise Men completed the tableau, all costumed so cleverly. Thank YOU Sherri.

Another unsung hero is Phil Esthruth-Harrison, who produced the zoom experience for those at home—and the recording that I just viewed. His camera work and audio work, with continual improvement, made for good viewing of this special service. And Phil does this every week for the 10-15 people who come in thru zoom—and those in the back. Thank YOU Phil.

All of which brings to mind the many volunteers who contribute to our church services every week: Greeters, Ushers, Worship Leaders, Communion servers, Counters, and Hospitality and to those who recruit them: Laurie Carter, Lucy Strasburg, Dianna Warner, Don Wilson and Wendy Wysong-Leighton who fills in empty slots. If you are willing to serve in any of these important ways and are not being asked, email Wendy to be included. Thank YOU to all who volunteer!
